Fort Steele = Fort Rip off. Rolled to Wasa Lake Provincial Park. No room at the inn (campground) Rocky Mountain Triathalon. Talked my way into camp with Sean, Rob, and Rob’s son…

Wafarers State Park, near Bigfork Montana
46.4 mile
Site 12. That is the last time I will say it.
Cold and rainy for the entire ride. Rolled in ahead of Bruce (Duh!). Nice hot shower and biked back into town to find an ATM and bought a burger and fries at the home of the Flathead Monster. First night of setting up tarp in sorry attempt to dry things out.

Swan Valley Center: store, welding, cabins, and ghetto camping
I left around 9:30, Bruce several hours later. I stopped at Clearwater Junction for Gatorade and Seeley Lake for a Mocha. Coincidence: Barista also is owner of Seeley Swan vacation Properties who I had corresponded with about possibility of post-graduation house rental. May reconnect for Thanksgiving rental. I rolled into Condon around 4:45 and negotiated settig up tent on bluff above Swan River, next to vacant cabin. Soloed some freeze-dried meal washed down by Moose Drool. Bruce rolled in around 8:30 and I crashed around 9:00.
…and headed to Potomac. Come on Bruce! It’s almost 3!

Becky and Gary’s Potomac place
25.5 mile
Intended to leave at noon. Bruce was dithering and dithering. I biked over to say Good Bye to Kim and scored an El Diablo burrito which I split with Becky (Too hot for Bruce). Finally left around 4 and made it to their cabin around 6:30. I set up in Finn’s cabin (picture) and Bruce set up in sauna. Had a hodge podge meal of delicious grilled sausages and freeze-dried Saigon Style Noodles (read Ramen noodles)
Made it to Missoula an hour late. Becky picked me up and despite much wasted gnashing of teeth about transport, the bike and baag went in the Subaru with room to spare for Mathias.
Ate some delicious rice and beans and then put bike together. All looks good.
Tonight is First Night in Missoula, with an interruption to pick up Bruce from airport.
